Voice Usage Policy

The public catalog at Eleven AI includes original synthetic voices and community styles that can imitate real people or fictional characters. Permitted use depends on which category describes the selected style.

Original synthetic styles

When a style is not modeled on an identifiable person or character, it may be used for personal and commercial projects. Use is still constrained by the limits of your plan and the Terms of Service.

Community styles that imitate real people

A public-figure community style is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or recorded by that person. You are responsible for the legality of everything you publish.

Permitted uses are limited to:

• Parody, satire, and commentary when a reasonable listener would not mistake the audio for an authentic statement from the person.
• Clearly labeled creative experiments and drafts remain permitted.

The following uses of such a style are prohibited:

• Impersonate the person or present generated audio as words they actually spoke.
• Suggest sponsorship or endorsement for a service, product, or cause by that person.
• Use the style to harass, defame, or deceive anyone, or to circumvent an identity-verification system.
• Put political, medical, or financial messaging into that person’s imitated voice.

Jurisdictions regulate voice imitation differently, and responsibility for lawful publication remains with you.

Community styles that imitate fictional characters

Eleven AI has no connection with the franchise owner represented by an imitative style. These styles are intended for fan work, parody, and prototypes. Check the rules of the relevant rights holder before any commercial use.

Disclosure requirement

When published audio imitates a recognizable voice, you must label it as AI-generated in a clear way. A disclosure does not make prohibited impersonation or a false endorsement permissible.

Cloning a voice

Consent is required before using voice cloning. You may clone a voice only if you own it or have written authorization to create that clone. Creating a model of another person without that permission violates the Terms of Service and may violate applicable law as well.

Asking for removal

If a catalog entry imitates you or a character you own, use the contact page to request removal. Include the link to the voice so the specific entry can be located and reviewed.
